Your Montana CE requirements

12 hours every year.

Montana’s license year runs November 1 through October 31, and hours don’t carry over to the next year. Montana gives credit for courses approved by another state’s real estate commission, so our state-approved courses count toward your 12 hours.

Salespersons

Complete 12 hours each license year (November 1 to October 31).

Brokers

Same requirement: 12 hours each year. Brokers with a supervising broker endorsement include 4 hours of supervising broker education.

Plan ahead

Complete your CE before October 31, when Montana licenses expire.

Late fee

A license not renewed by October 31 expires and can’t be used until it is renewed with late fees. Keep each completion certificate in case of an audit.
